New York Fashion Week – the dream of every designer, model, fashionista and of all the fans of squandering money over clothes. What we can see is a whole other question- the opinion is left to the viewer, therefore to the buyer. . .
Couture Fashion Week New York is part of USA International Fashion Shows. It produces an exciting series of runway fashion shows and this year it took place at the Wardorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan. The event was a three day marathon for all haute couture lovers who vigorously fought to get a glimpse at the collections of the 22 international designers’ work. They were presented before audiences of VIP’s, international press and upscale boutique buyers.
This year designers from Russia, Lebanon, U.K, USA, Dominican Republic, India, Germany and Brazil, represented their collections in the Grand Ballroom of the “W” Hotel, where the emotions from the shows shook every guest. The majority of the collections had a very summer flow to the color representation of the clothes. Satin, velvet, lace and faux fur were the basic textiles of the exquisite designs. Multilayer dresses are to be flaunted this year. The majority of the designs included corset tops and puffy skirts attached with feathers, pearl-alike buttons, ribbons and buckles. The screaming element of all clothes was glitter, glitter and glitter! This magical and so loved shining add-on, puffed up all designs and made them extravagant as well as a definite must-have. Shoulderless clothing lines were demonstrated in front of the eyes of the thousand VIP guests. From bridal dresses to everyday skirts and tops were underlining the collections and the feminine shapes of the models.
The top highlight of Couture Fashion came from no other than Lebanese designer Hadi Katra. Specializing in haute couture, Mr. Katra demonstrated his enviable skills in the broidery of golden and silver stiches into flirty dresses. The owner of “Roblanche” combines the beauty of the east and west in a perfection of colors and designs. Energetic and vibrant dresses were carrying graphical sharp color patterns and gorgeous feminine shapes in sheer flowing fabrics. The acclaimed Lebanese designer created an incomparable fashion experience which took the viewers to the glamour of the global haute and hot couture.
Hadi Katra’s fellow Lebanese designer Edward Arsouni closed the three day experience with a breathtaking collection of silk, organza and cotton evening dresses in splashes in vibrant colors. That set the middle Easterners as favorites for Couture Fashion 2011.
As expected, the shows represented the best of the best among international designers. As the standard is set high enough, lets expect to see as skilled designers in the Fall of 2011.
