Now that they’ve finally cast again Daniel Craig as 007, the James Bond producers still have to finish another extensive casting search to find his leading lady.
Who should be the next Bond Girl?
Contrary to rumor, Hollychicago reports, they still haven’t settled on anyone yet.
Apparently, you can forget such top-of-the-wish-list name as Angelina Jolie (who, now that she’s announced that won’t be doing any stuntwork for a while). Among the two women reportedly testing for the role are Natasha Henstridge and Australian actress Kimberly Davies.
I’m not sure who I’d want to cast, since Bond Girl is a career-killer role unless you’re already an established actress. I’d like to see someone more exotic than the usual Euromodel types play the part: say, Violeta Ivanova (the picture bellow), or Eva Mendes.
Who would you pick, Eurochicago readers?
To start with, popular bookmakers, Boylesports, has listed Violeta with the odds of 10/12, as the star in the next Bond film. In fact, her odds are better than Hollywood stars like Natasha Henstridge (15/8), Olga Kurylenko (6/1) and Emma Watson (10/1).
Interestingly, Rachel Weisz – who is believed to be having an affair with Craig – goes with the odds of 2/1. The buzz is that she might be cast as a villain in the blockbuster franchise.
Ireland-based Sky Bet also puts Violeta in the favorite bracket with odds of 8/11; followed by Saldana (13/8) and Megan Fox (5/1). Others include Kimberly Davies(10/1), Natalie Portman (12/1) and Natasha Henstridge (14/1). Bond is expected to return to the silver screen in November 2012, as filming is set to start this year. As per Ladbrokes, Violetta is 3/1 favorite, while Olga Kurylenko is at 4/1 to make a second appearance as Camille. Weisz is at 8/1.
Violeta Ivanova from Vratsa, Bulgaria (also transliterated as Vraca or Vratza) is not a movie-star, but she has all the required elements of one: beautiful, mysterious, smart, strong, rebellious, and wit.
Eurochicago vote for Violeta!
