2nd Person Perishes in Bulgaria Ethnic Clashes

A 16-year-old suffering from heart problems passed away from stroke as a crowd ethnic Bulgarians gathered Saturday to protest against an influential Roma family in the village of Katunitsa.
Friday night a 19-year-old ethnic Bulgarian was reportedly purposefully run over and killed by a van driven by Roma, after which angry Bulgarians gathered around the houses of notorious clan leader Kiril Rashkov, aka Tsar Kiro.
5 persons, including 3 police officers, have been injured in the ensuing clashes, when a vehicle driven by Roma drove into the crowd.
Hundreds of riot police were mobilized after angry crowds started vandalizing the property of the Tsar Kiro family.

All countries from the Balkans must join the EU to achieve stability of the region, said Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs in his UN General Assembly speach.
„Europe will not be whole and complete until our Balkan neighbors join our Union,“ stated Mladenov.
He argued that only EU membership will make „war impossible“ and will bring permanent stability to the region.
The Bulgarian Foreign Affairs Minister vowed that his country is and will be doing everything to boost neighborly relations in the region and to aid fellow Balkan countries in their accession efforts.
