Justin Bieber was the big winner at the 2012 American Music Awards, held Sunday night November 18 in Los Angeles. The 18-year-old pop phenom took home three awards during the telecast, including the night’s biggest award, Artist of the Year. He accepted the award with the comment: „I want to say this is for all the haters who thought that I was just here for one or two years. I feel like I’m going to be here for a very long time.“ He also won awards for Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist and Favorite Pop/Rock Album (“Believe”). The star walked the red carpet with his mother, Pattie Mallette, after his widely reported split from former Disney star and girlfriend Selena Gomez.
