One of the most anticipated events on Chicago’s musical scene this fall will take place at the exquisite Palm Court of the Drake Hotel. Internationally renowned pianist Ani Gogova will appear in a recital featuring the Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven, Fantasies by Schumann, Brahms, and Shostakovich, Fairytales by Medtner and Musica Ricercata by Ligeti. Praised for her “dazzling artistic presence”, “masterful poetic expression”, “ravishing colors”, and “virtuoso technique beyond reproach”, Ani is returning to the Drake after sold-out performance of her iAN&ANi duo with Russian cellist Ian Maksin earlier this year. Raising funds for Ani’s upcoming album “Fantasies, Fairytales, and Nightmares”, this event will feature an art exhibition by Symbolist artist Gail Potocki, who utilizes the skills and techniques of the Old Masters to create lush allegories rooted in compelling realism, branching seductively into the realms of possibility. Silent auction of products and services donated by local artists and businesses will conclude the evening. All contributions, including tickets, are tax deductible through the fiscal sponsor of the project, the Bulgarian American Heritage Center (501c).
