Bulgarian Cuisine demonstration and degustation:

Two main workshops:
Art – 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm – drawings: Bulgarian artists will teach special techniques and basic knowledge

Arts and Craft workshops:
– traditional craft projects – decorating plates, mini traditional apron, coloring sheets – folk costumes – lead by Polina Todorova (BSS Naperville)
Story Telling Workshop:
– small plays on Bulgarian folk stories – lead by Milena Cherchelanova
– traditional Bulgarian children’s’ games – lead by Neli Tianev and Ivaylo Torosyan – (BSS Naperville)
– puppet show – lead by Darina Prodanova (BSS- John Atanasoff)
– stories and poems in Bulgarian and English – TBD
Alphabet workshop: – lead by Institute of Cyrillic Languages – Vania Nalbantova
– writing Bulgarian letters
– Learning basic Bulgarian phrases such as: “Hello”, “Good Bye”, “How are you”, etc.
– presenting the Bulgarian alphabet worked by BAHC
European Union Workshop: – lead by Transatlantic Perspectives – Geneva, Illinois
– Information/video/quiz on Bulgaria and European Union
– Coloring sheets – Bulgarian flag, European Union flag, map of Bulgaria, etc.
History Models Workshop: – lead by Bulgarian Museum – Chicago, Illinois (Elena Tabakova)
With the participation of Folk Ensembles Horo and Hortze
– demonstrating traditional folk costumes
– demonstrating early 20th century urban European fashion
– children in traditional folk costumes will provide visitors with testing of the fragrance of Bulgarian rose oil
– pictures with urban European hats and accessories amongst models in the relevant outfit*
*every guest may pose and have a picture taken that will be sent on their e-mails later on

– European early 20th century women’s fashion – presented by Elena Tabakova
– Bulgarian alphabet children’s drawings – Presented by BAHC
– Bulgarian contemporary arts (paintings) – presenting Bulgarian Artist Abroad
All activities conclude with painting on large pieces of paper.
