Celebrate festive traditions from around the globe with a forest of beautifully adorned trees, each one decorated by local volunteers from cultural organizations and Chicago’s diverse communities.
It began in 1942 with a single tree dedicated to the Allies of World War II. Today, the Museum of Science and Industry’s parallel „Christmas Around the World“ and „Holidays of Light“ shows consist of a 45-footer adorned with 30,000 lights and 1,000 ornaments surrounded by 50 smaller trees decorated to represent various global holiday traditions. Тhe MSI kicked things off on November 14, by plugging in the Grand Tree, which is Disney-themed this year to match the museum’s concurrent „Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives“ show.
On the weekends, you can enjoy live holiday performances, take-home LEGO® activities, and optional photos with Santa. It’s the one-of-a-kind experience that brings a whole world of holiday joy under one roof.
Explore rich holiday traditions from around the globe while creating your own traditions with loved ones.
„Christmas Around the World“ and +Holidays of Light“ is open through January 8, 2017, and is included in Museum Entry.
