The Washington Post съобщава, че първият епизод на филма „Plandemic“, заснет от Джуди Миковиц, обявена от вестника за видна фигура в американското антиваксинационно движение, е масово премахван от социалните мрежи и сайтове за видео хостинг на 8 май 2020 г.

Сайтовете за видео хостинг Youtube и Vimeo, както и социалната мрежа Facebook, изтриват серията от сървърите им. Причина за блокирането на филма се обявява „опасната и подвеждаща информация“, представена във филма, като например това, че „носенето на маска може да ви разболее и да навреди на здравето ви“.

Филмът също така обсъжда версията, че редица милиардери и хора с високи постове нарочно са помогнали за разпространението на коронавируса, като излагат населението на масови ваксинации.

Interviewer: Dr. Judy Mikovits has been called one of the most accomplished scientists of her generation. Her 1991 doctoral thesis revolutionized the treatment of HIV/AIDS. At the height of her career, Dr. Mikovits published a blockbuster article in the journal Science. The controversial article sent shock waves through the scientific community as it revealed that the common use of animal and human fetal tissues were unleashing devastating plagues of chronic diseases.
For exposing their deadly secrets, the minions of Big Pharma waged war on Dr. Mikovits, destroying her good name, career, and personal life. Now, as the fate of nations hang in the balance, Dr. Mikovits is naming names of those behind the plague of corruption that places all human life in danger.
So, you made a discovery that conflicted with the agreed upon narrative.
Dr. Mikovits: Correct.
Interviewer: And for that, they did everything in their powers to destroy your life.
Dr. Mikovits: Correct.
Interviewer: You were arrested.
Dr. Mikovits: Correct.
Interviewer: And then, you were put under a gag order.
Dr. Mikovits: For five years. If I went on social media, if I said anything at all, they would find new evidence and put me back in jail. And it was one of the few times I cried. It was because I knew there was no evidence the first time. And when you can unleash that kind of force … to force someone into bankruptcy with a perfect credit score so that I couldn’t bring my 97 witnesses, which included the heads — Tony Fauci, Ian Lipkin — the heads of the public health in HHS, who would’ve had to testify that we did absolutely nothing wrong.
Interviewer: And so, what did they charge you with?
Dr. Mikovits: Nothing.
Interviewer: But you were in jail.
Dr. Mikovits: I was held in jail with no charges. I was called a fugitive from justice. No warrant. Literally drug me out of the house. Our neighbors are looking at what’s going on here. They search my house without a warrant, literally terrorize my husband for five days. They said, “If you don’t find the notebooks, if you don’t find the material,” which was not in my possession, but planted in my house.
Interviewer: As if you took intellectual property from the laboratory, is that correct?
Dr. Mikovits: Yes. It was intended to appear as if I took confidential material, names, and intellectual property from the laboratory. And I could prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that I didn’t.
Heads of our entire HHS colluded and destroy my reputation. And the Department of Justice and the FBI sat on it and kept that case under seal, which means you can’t say there’s a case, or your lawyers are held in contempt of court. So, you can’t even get a lawyer to defend you. So, every single due process right was taken away from me, and to this day, remains the same. I have no constitutional freedoms or rights.
Interviewer: Yet, you sit here. I think a lot of people would probably have just taken their retirement out early, laid low. But you have decided to come forth when your gag order has been released to write a book called Plague of Corruption: Restoring Faith in the Promise of Science. And you are naming names.
Dr. Mikovits: Absolutely.
Interviewer: Apparently, their attempt to silence you has failed. And I have to ask, how do you sit here with confidence to call out these great forces and not fear for your life as you leave this building?
Dr. Mikovits: Because if we don’t stop this now, we can not only forget our republic and our freedom, but we can forget humanity because we’ll be killed by this agenda.
Interviewer: So, Anthony Fauci –
Dr. Fauci: My name’s Dr. Tony Fauci. I’m the director of the…
Interviewer: — the man who is heading the pandemic task force, was involved in a cover-up.
Dr. Mikovits: He directed the cover-up. And in fact, everybody else was paid off, and paid off big time, millions of dollars in funding from Tony Fauci, Tony Fauci’s organization, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease. These investigators that committed the fraud continue, to this day, to be paid big time by the NIAID.
Interviewer: And the whole world is listening to his advice for how to handle this current pandemic. How do we know that what he’s saying is what we need to be learning?
Dr. Mikovits: What he’s saying is absolute propaganda, and the same kind of propaganda that he’s perpetuated to kill millions since 1984.
Dr. Fauci: We know from this study, quite clearly, that there will be a delay in progression significantly greater than for individuals who do not take the drug.
Dr. Mikovits: It started really when I was 25 years old. I was part of the team that isolated HIV from the saliva and blood of the patients from France, where Luc Montagnier had originally isolated the virus.
Dr. Montagnier: [Speaking French].
Dr. Mikovits: This was a confirmatory study, but Tony Fauci and Robert Gallo were working together then to spin the story in a different way.
At that time, Dr. Ruscetti was out of town, and Tony Fauci says, “We understand that you have a paper in press, and we wanna copy of it.” And I said, “Yes, there’s a paper in press, and it’s confidential. And, no, I will not give you a copy of it.” He started screaming at me. Then, he said, “Give us the paper right now! Or you’ll be fired for insubordination.” And I just said, “I’m sure when Dr. Ruscetti gets back, you can have the conversation.”
And so, Frank comes back several weeks later, and he’s really bullied into giving Fauci the paper. Fauci holds up the publication of the paper for several months, while Robert Gallo writes his own paper and takes all the credit. And of course, patents are involved. This delay of the confirmation literally led to spreading the virus around, killing millions.
News Anchor: Perhaps on one expressed the anguish of AIDS better than New York writer Larry Kramer.
Protesters: “Act up! Fight back! Fight Aids!”
News Anchor: But he was even more angry at the federal government and the pharmaceutical industry. One person who felt Kramer’s fury was NIH doctor Anthony Fauci.
Dr. Mikovits: He called Tony Fauci the Bernie Madoff of science. It’s still been crushing to me to think that I didn’t know my work in 1999 was something that had been avoided from ’83 and ’82, when the virus was isolated. The virus didn’t have to wait until ’84 to be confirmed.
Think of how many people — the entire continent of Africa lost a generation as that virus was spread through because of the arrogance of a group of people. And it includes Robert Redfield, who’s now the head of the CDC, right along with Tony Fauci. They were working together to take credit and make money. And they had the patents on it and tailored them to IL-2 therapy, which was absolutely the wrong therapy. And had that not happened, millions wouldn’t have died from HIV.
Interviewer: How can a man who’s giving — any person who’s giving global advice for health own a patent in the solution of the vaccine? Isn’t that a conflict of interest, or shouldn’t it be?
Dr. Mikovits: It is a conflict of interest. And in fact, this is one of the things that I’ve been saying and would like to say to President Trump. Repeal the Bayh-Dole Act.
Dr. Lemley: Bayh-Dole fundamentally changed the way universities approach technology transfer, and you can see that best in the statistics. Universities obtain 16 times as many patents today as they did in 1980.
Now, everybody’s getting more patents, but still, universities’ share of all patents in the United States is more than five times greater than it was before Bayh-Dole. The situation has gotten so bad that one information technology industry official has publicly referred to universities as, quote, crack addicts, unquote, driving by, quote, small-minded tech transfer offices addicted to patent royalties.
Dr. Mikovits: That act gave government workers the right to patent their discoveries, so to claim intellectual property for discoveries that the tax payer paid for. Ever since that happened in the early ’80s, it destroyed science. And this allowed the development of those conflicts of interest.
And this is the crime behind letting somebody like Bill Gates with billions of dollars — nobody elected him. He has no medical background. He was no expertise. But we let people like that have a voice in this country while we destroy the lives of millions of people.
Bill Gates: Normalcy only returns when we’ve largely vaccinated the entire global population.
Interviewer: If we activate mandatory vaccines globally, I imagine these people stand to make hundreds of billions of dollars, that own the vaccines.
Dr. Mikovits: And they’ll kill millions, as they already have with their vaccines. There is no vaccine currently on the schedule for any RNA virus that works.
Interviewer: So, I have to ask you. Are you anti-vaccine?
Dr. Mikovits: Oh, absolutely not. In fact, vaccine is immune therapy, just like interferon alpha’s immune therapy. So, I’m not anti-vaccine. My job is to develop immune therapies. That’s what vaccines are.
Interviewer: Do you believe that this virus was created in a laboratory?
Dr. Mikovits: I wouldn’t use the word “created,” but you can’t say “naturally occurring” if it was by way of the laboratory. So, it’s very clear this virus was manipulated. This family of viruses was manipulated and studied in a laboratory, where the animals were taken into the laboratory. And this is what was released, whether deliberate or not. That cannot be naturally occurring.
Somebody didn’t go to a market, get a bat. The virus didn’t jump directly to humans. That’s not how it works. That’s accelerated viral evolution. If it was a natural occurrence, it would take up to 800 years to occur. This occurred from SARS1 within a decade. That’s not naturally occurring.
Interviewer: And do you have any ideas of where this occurred?
Dr. Mikovits: Oh, yeah. I’m sure it occurred between the North Carolina laboratories, Fort Detrick, US Army Research Institute of Infectious Disease, and the Wuhan laboratory.
News Anchor: $3.7 million flowed from the National Institutes of Health here in the US to the Wuhan lab in China, the same lab where many people have said that this coronavirus infection first originated. We also now know that NIAID, the department associated with the National Institutes of Health, of which Dr. Anthony Fauci is in control, had already conducting experiments with the Wuhan lab in the past in regard to coronavirus. If Dr. Anthony Fauci cannot be honest with the public about his connection to this lab, then Fauci has to go.
Dr. Mikovits: In 1999, I was working in Fort Detrick in USAMRIID there. And my job was to teach Ebola how to infect human cells without killing them. Ebola couldn’t infect human cells until we took it in the laboratories and taught them.
Interviewer: It’s hard to ignore the death tolls. People have been dying. They are dying from this in quite alarming numbers. How do you reconcile that?
Dr. Mikovits: It’s pretty easy when you see — for me — when you see what the government has done. And that is that they took quoting Dr. Birx –
Dr. Birx: We’ve taken a very liberal approach to mortality.
Dr. Mikovits: — “A very liberal approach.” If my husband were to die, who has COPD, his lungs have fibrosis, his lungs would look exactly like somebody with COVID-19, theoretically. But he has no evidence of infection. So, if you’re not testing, and you don’t have evidence of infection, and if you walked in there today, they’d call it COVID-19. And we hear this from the doctors and nurses who are upset.
Interviewer: I’ve seen so many doctors online that have made their own webcam videos just perplexed by the protocol that the CDC had given them.
Dr. Jensen: Well, last Friday, I received a seven-page document that sort of told me that if I had an 86-year-old patient that had pneumonia but was never test for COVID-19, but sometime after she came down pneumonia we learned that she had been exposed to her son, who had no symptoms, but later on was identified with COVID-19, that it would be appropriate to diagnose on the death certificate COVID-19.
Dr. Erickson: When I’m writing up my death report, I’m being pressured to add COVID. Why is that? Why are we being pressured to add COVID? To maybe increase the numbers and make it look a little bit worse than it is? I think so.
News Anchor: Why would they wanna skew the number of deaths due to COVID-19?
Dr. Jensen: Well, fear is a great way to control people. And sometimes, people’s ability to think for themselves is paralyzed if they’re frightened enough. And that’s not where I want people to be. I want people to say, “We’re gonna get through this. I’m gonna use my head. I’m gonna go to different sources. I’m gonna listen to different sources. And I’m gonna think for myself because that’s what America’s about.”
Dr. Birx: If someone dies with COVID-19, we are counting that as a COVID-19 death.
Dr. Mikovits: You don’t die with an infection. You die from an infection.
Interviewer: I’ve talked with doctors who have admitted that they are being incentivized to list patients that are sick or have died with COVID-19.
Dr. Mikovits: Yeah, $13,000.00 from Medicare if you call it COVID-19.
Dr. Jensen: Right now, Medicare is determined that if you have a COVID-19 admission to the hospital you’ll get paid $13,000.00. If that COVID-19 patient goes on a ventilator, you get $39,000.00, three times as much.
Dr. Mikovits: And you’ve killed them with the ventilator because you gave them the wrong treatment.
Dr. Kyle-Sidell: All the things that just don’t make sense, the patients I’m seeing in front of me, the lungs I’m trying to improve, have led me to believe that we are operating under a medical paradigm that is untrue. And I fear that this misguided treatment will lead to a tremendous amount of harm to a great number of people in a very short time.
Interviewer: My next question is about Italy. I wanna know why Italy was hit so hard.
Dr. Mikovits: Italy has a very old population. They’re very sick with inflammatory disorders. They got, at the beginning of 2019, an untested, new form of influenza vaccine that had four different strains of influenza, including the highly pathogenic H1N1. That vaccine was grown in a cell line, a dog cell line. Dogs have lots of coronaviruses. And that’s why they’re not testing there. You could just say, “Oh, it was that.”
News Anchor: As the country begins emerging from the worst of the coronavirus epidemic, one question remains. What happened to all the hydroxychloroquine?
Health Worker: We know that hydrochloroquin [sic] and zinc are working great for patients. And then, Fauci comes and says, “Well, there’s no double-blind, control-placebo study.” Which by the way, Dr. Fauci, is there going to be a double-blind, controlled-placebo study of your vaccine? Is there?
News Anchor: In a survey polling nearly 2300 doctors in some 30 countries, hydroxychloroquine was ranked as the most affected medication to treat the virus.
Dr. Mikovits: The AMA was saying doctors will lose their license if they use hydroxychloroquine, the antimalarial drug that’s been on the list of essential medicine worldwide for 70 years. Dr. Fauci calls that “anecdotal.”
Dr. Fauci: Anecdotal data.
Dr. Mikovits: It’s not storytelling if we have thousands of pages of data saying it’s effective against these families of viruses. For $0.50 a dose we could protect a thousand people for seven days, two doses a day, with one $600.00 vial. And that hasn’t been done.
This is essential medicine, and they keep it from the people. Not only now, but back in autism with our discovery, there was an old antiviral drug, hundred-year-old drug called suramin — on the WHO list of essential medicine. It literally gave kids with autism a voice, a life. What did Bayer and Monsanto do? They took it away from everybody, you couldn’t get it to save your life right now. And we tried, believe me, every way we could.
So, when you take away a medicine — and not just the WHO, not just the WHO, the FDA, the CDC, Tony Fauci. Close everything. Just end it all, and we’ve got a healthy world again. And we got tons of money because we can take all that money they’re making on their patents, and we can give it to the victims of this plague of corruption.
Interviewer: Is it safe to say that anything that cannot be patented has been shut down intentionally because there’s no way to profit from it, all these natural remedies that we’ve had forever?
Dr. Mikovits: Absolutely, that’s fair to say. And that’s exactly what’s going on in COVID-19. The game is to prevent the therapies till everyone is infected and push the vaccines, knowing that the flu vaccines increase the odds, by 36%, of getting COVID-19.
Interviewer: Where does that data come from?
Dr. Mikovits: A publication last year, where the military who had been vaccinated with influenza were more susceptible to coronaviruses. Coronaviruses are in every animal. So, if you’ve ever had a flu vaccine, you were injected with coronaviruses. And then, to put on a mask –
Dr. Erickson: This doesn’t make any sense. We wear a mask in an acute setting to protect us. We’re not wearing masks, why is that? Because we understand microbiology. We understand immunology. And we want strong immune systems.
Our immune system is used to touching. We share bacteria, staphylococcal, streptococcal bacteria, viruses. We develop an immune response daily to this stuff. When you take that away from me, my immune system drops. As I shelter in place, my immune system drops. You keep me there for months, it drops more. And now I’m at home hand washing vigorously, washing the counters, worried about things that are indeed what I need to survive.
Dr. Massihi: You’re not immunodeficient and you’re not elder, you should be able to go out without any gloves and without a mask. I think if you are those things, you should either shelter in place or wear a mask and gloves.
I don’t think everybody needs to wear a mask and gloves because it reduces your bacterial flora. It doesn’t allow you to interact with society. And your bacteria flora and your viruses, your friends that protect you from other diseases, end up going away. And now you’re more likely to get opportunistic infections, infections that are hoping you don’t have your good bugs fighting for you, if that makes sense.
Dr. Erickson: And then, as we all come out of shelter in place with a lower immune system, and start trading viruses, bacteria, what do you think’s gonna happen? Disease is gonna spike.
Dr. Massihi: I guarantee, when we reopen, there’s gonna be a huge, huge amount of illness that’s gonna be rampant.
Dr. Erickson: The building blocks of your immune system is virus and bacteria, end of story.
Dr. Mikovits: Wearing the mask literally activates your own virus. You’re getting sick from your own reactivated, coronavirus expressions. And if it happens to be SARS-CoV-2, then you’ve got a big problem.
Interviewer: You’re not the first virologist who has told me that we’re doing the exact opposite of what we should be doing to contain and to create immunity from this virus.
Dr. Mikovits: Why would you close the beach? You’ve got sequences in the soil, in the sand. You’ve got healing microbes in the ocean, in the salt water. That’s insanity.
Interviewer: These institutions that are polluting our environment and our bodies, there was a time when they actually had to fight their own battles.
Dr. Mikovits: Right.
Interviewer: But they’ve done such a good job at manipulating the masses that it’s other people shutting down other citizens. And the big tech platforms follow suit, and they shut everything down. There is no dissenting voices allowed anymore in this free country, which is something I never thought I would live to see.
Dr. Mikovits: Nor would I, except what I’ve experienced since 2011. It’s beyond comprehension how society can be so fooled, that the types of propaganda continue to where they’re just driving us to hate each other.
Female Protester: You wanna go to work –
Male Protester: Yes!
Female Protester: — and get this disease? I think the medical profession [sic] know what they’re talking about.
Male Protester: They’ve been wrong so far, man! They’ve been wrong!
Female Protester: I don’t…
Dr. Mikovits: Hopefully, this is the wake-up call of all America to realize this makes no sense, and we win because it will take down the whole program with information like this. And for me, it’s the great news that the doctors are waking up and saying, “Wait a minute.”
Health Worker: You, you doctors that are watching this — and I see a lot of you right here — why are you not getting loud? I’m here to defend you. I’m here to defend my freedoms. I’m here to defend my family’s freedoms, my patients’ rights to choose what to do with their life. I’m just blown away.
And I’m blown away why there are not more doctors like me talking about this all over the place. We should be banding together right now. You need to wake up because your liberties are getting taken away from you all because of fake news that’s out there. This is wrong. People should be going to jail for this stuff.
Dr. Mikovits: So, it’s not the scientists who are in anyway dishonest. They’re listening to people who, for more than 40 years, have controlled who gets funded, what gets published. And I’m sorry to say many, many people will simply just take the money and the fame and support things that absolutely aren’t true.
Interviewer: What do you say to the medical professionals that are just beginning to get a glimpse of the depth to which they have been misled and steered away from their oath to do no harm?
Dr. Mikovits: I say forgive yourself. It’s the hardest thing to realize for all of us, is that, with all the best intention, we studied, we learned what we thought was the truth. We had no idea that the data that we were being told was true was not true.
We’ve been taught now in our schools a very different science. You don’t get funded if you don’t speak the party line. You don’t get published. That was probably the hardest thing for me to take, is understanding that scientific journals would twist the discovery that should’ve healed all.
(Old footage) “Will the scientific community have the courage to answer the question of whether these diseases might have been of their own creation. Thank you.”
So, what we did, pretty much ever since I got out of jail, we started an education company. We wake up doctors. And it’s very difficult. But every doctor who realized they may have been part of the problem has now turned that around to march toward a better society and restore faith in the promise of medicine. That’s all we can do.
Interviewer: Well, Dr. Mikovits, thank you so much for your time. It’s been a real honor to sit here with you. And particularly, thank you for your courage.
Dr. Mikovits: Thank you, Mikki. I appreciate it a lot.
Dr. Fauci: The idea that we are now a few days away from a new administration, given, as you heard from the introduction, that I have been around for a while and have had the opportunity of serving in five administrations, I thought I would bring that perspective to the topic today, is the issue of pandemic preparedness.
And if there’s one message that I want to leave with you today, is that there is no question that there will be a surprise outbreak. The thing we’re extraordinarily confident about is that we are gonna see this in the next few years. Thank you.

Everything Wrong with the Documentary ‘Plandemic’

In the past two days, I have seen a 25 minute video from the upcoming documentary titled ‘Plandemic’ featuring interviews with Judy Mikovits circulating constantly on social media. It has repeatedly been deleted from YouTube, not due to silencing the truth, but due to it being factually incorrect and dangerously misleading people to distrust science and medical advice. Still, it keeps reappearing on different channels and won’t seem to go away. There has been a huge influx in misinformation since the emergence of Covid-19, and I said I wouldn’t get involved but this finally compelled me to do something. Scientists and doctors are often blamed as not doing a good enough job of communicating their work to the public. However, when we do try to present the facts , we often get buried by celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow who have no scientific training, but way more followers or other ‘wellness’ experts promoting their alternative cure with tons of marketing experience. Conventional medicine and the pharmaceutical industry always gets accused of being for profit, and for sure there are problems there, but it still is based on peer reviewed science. We forget that the wellness industry promoting this vitamin or that herbal remedy is very much a for profit industry. One that is not at all regulated, that spends a lot of marketing dollars trying to promote their products and sow distrust in conventional medicine. But here is one more attempt to try to drown out the misinformation with facts.
Now on to Plandemic.
First of all, the whole introduction about Judy Mikovitz and how she was arrested and silenced for speaking the truth is completely false. Judy Mikovitz published a paper in the highly-respected journal Science in 2009 linking chronic fatigue syndrome to the XRMV virus [1]. The paper was later retracted because other researchers in several different countries at completely unrelated institutes couldn’t replicate her research, finding no links between XRMV and chronic fatigue syndrome patients in thousands of different patients [2]. When it became clear no one could replicate her findings, it was determined that the results she reported must have been due to contamination of the cells she was studying with a XMRV virus in the lab, and not from patients infected with the virus [3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]. The paper was then retracted. Mikovitz was arrested for stealing notebooks from the lab and refusing to hand them over. Once the work she was doing was coming under question, the Whitmore Institute, her employer, wanted to preserve the results as they were and prevent Mikovits from tampering with them. The employer typically owns the notebooks, because they pay for the research. In a scientific research lab, notebooks are meant to preserve a meticulous record of everything that was done, to allow others to continue the research, or to confirm the details if other scientists are questioning the published results. Lab notebooks never leave the lab. From a scientist’s perspective, she didn’t steal them to protect the truth but more likely to hide her bad science, as demonstrated by the fact that her work was not reproducible by other research groups. Mikovitz has been outcast from the scientific community due to her lack of scientific integrity, not because of some conspiracy. She has twisted the truth about her past and has now rebranded herself as some persecuted martyr. She has been a guest speaker at an anti-vax conference and published a book with renowned anti-vax advocate Kent Heckenlively. As a darling of the anti-vax community, she has a vested interest in having people distrust the scientific establishment.
One thing Mikovitz says is there are no RNA virus vaccines currently on the schedule. That is simply not true. Polio, measles and influenza are all RNA viruses and vaccines to all of those are routine vaccines, with polio and measles forming part of routine childhood vaccines, which I’m assuming is what she meant by ‘on the schedule’. If instead she meant an RNA-based vaccine, then it is true that it is a new technology that is being explored to develop a potential COVID-19 vaccine, along with more conventional vaccine methods such as using inactivated virus particles.
Next, she goes on about how the virus couldn’t be naturally occurring. Several scientific groups have analyzed the genetic sequence of the virus, and the evidence is overwhelming that it arose naturally [9, 10]. Furthermore, she says it could only mutate that way or jump to humans after 1000 years, but shortly after the SARS outbreak, scientists were predicting the emergence of another coronavirus in the next ten years. Coronaviruses do occur in nature and occasionally jump over from their animal hosts to humans, with SARS emerging in 2003, and then MERS in 2012 and COVID-19 in 2019 [11, 12, 13]. Other viruses routinely mutate and jump the species barrier. This is how the Swine flu emerged in 2010.
Another thing this video does is accuse hospitals of skewing numbers to make the pandemic seem worse than it is by reporting unconfirmed cases as COVID-19 deaths. The decision to report unconfirmed cases is a difficult one. China and Russia have been accused of underreporting to downplay the severity of the outbreak by only reporting cases that have been confirmed by laboratory results. Italy also admitted to only reporting confirmed cases, therefore delating the official numbers since many suspected cases died at home without confirmation. Parts of the US are being accused of over reporting by including suspected cases based on clinical diagnosis to made based on medical signs and symptoms rather than a lab test . The truth is there is a backlog of tests, which can take a day or two, and sometimes patients go downhill very quickly, and die before a confirmation. However, it is common practice in medical fields to determine a cause of death based on clinical symptoms, without a diagnostic confirmation. Often, the exact cause of death can only be determined in an autopsy, and this is not routinely done, so a clinical diagnosis is sufficient to establish cause of death.
Another point she makes is including everyone who tests positive in the death count, regardless of whether COVID-19 was the cause of death. But comorbidity, meaning presenting with another illness at the same time as COVID-19, is what makes people most susceptible to infection [14, 15]. While they may have another pre existing condition, the truth is without COVID-19 infection they would not have died of that condition alone. Studies have shown a link between negative outcomes with COVID-19 and several other comorbidities, including diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension and cardiovascular disease. COVID-19 is also linked to an increase in pulmonary embolisms, a blood clot in the lungs [16, 17]. Often, there are a number of different things going wrong at once that ultimately kills the patient, so it is not possible to narrow it down to one of the many medical conditions affecting a patient simultaneously.
Next, the video talks about an influenza vaccine given in Italy and mistakenly says it increases susceptibility to coronaviruses. The study cited was a Department of Defence study which was severely misquoted [18]. What the study showed was that individuals who had received the influenza vaccine had a decreased risk of receiving other respiratory pathogens compared to control groups, except coronaviruses. COVID-19 was not in circulation at the time and the coronaviruses cited in that study were different strains, such as the ones that cause common colds. These results did not mean that individuals who received the vaccine were more susceptible to coronaviruses, just that the flu vaccine didn’t provide any added protection compared to those who didn’t receive it.
Mikovits also mentions that the flu vaccine was grown in dog cells, which is true and common practice. The flu vaccine was grown in dog kidney cells, Madin-Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK cells), which are able to grow enough virus to produce a vaccine in 3–4 days compared to the six months it takes using other methods [19]. This is a huge time savings, and would be especially important now when we need a vaccine as soon as possible. Contrary to what Mikovits says, growing up the virus in MDCK cells does not infect people with coronaviruses. Cell lines used in the lab are not just taken from wild dogs. They are cells that have been grown up in a lab under sterile conditions and would not contain the coronaviruses found in those cells in the wild. Cell lines occasionally have been contaminated with retroviruses or DNA viruses, which can integrate into the host cell’s viral DNA, making it impossible to detect them and helping them evade immune detection. HIV is an example of a retrovirus, which has the unique ability to translate it’s RNA into DNA and then integrate in the host cell’s DNA, allowing it to hide in host cells and evade detection. Mikovits’ retracted research had cells contaminated with the XMRV retrovirus. Some DNA viruses can also integrate into host cell DNA like retroviruses . More known ones capable of this include the Herpes Simplex Virus and the Human Papillomavirus Virus (HPV). Viruses that can integrate into a host cell can sometimes cause mutations when they insert themselves into the host DNA, which can cause cancer. This is the logic for the HPV vaccine preventing cancer. But there was one instance where a vaccine did increase susceptibility to cancer. The polio vaccine given out in between 1955 and 1963 was contaminated with the SV40 virus, a DNA virus that can integrate into cells, and this contaminated vaccine was later linked to cancer [20]. I was actually surprised Mikovits didn’t bring this up since it was a legitimate problem with contamination in a vaccine. However, we have learned from our mistakes and greatly improved vaccine development and safety precautions since then. Not being vaccinated due to a mistake made in vaccine development in the 50s is like saying we shouldn’t fly ever again because of the high number of airline fatalities in the 60s. Safety regulations and protocols in both vaccines and airlines have come a long way in the past 70 years. Regardless of all this, the coronavirus is not a retrovirus nor a DNA virus and it is incapable of integrating into the DNA of mammalian cells. Therefore it is not possible that it could be infecting the cells used to develop the flu vaccine unknowingly. Unlike retroviruses and certain DNA viruses, simple RNA viruses don’t have a way to integrate into host cell DNA. If the cells used to create the flu vaccine were infected by coronavirus, there would be thousands of virus particles in the cells and it would be incredibly obvious to the researchers.
The video then faults Fauci for not recommending hydroxychloroquine as a treatment. The reason is the data showing a positive effect on COVID-19 is not very convincing and it can have some pretty severe side effects and risks [21, 22, 23]. The COVID-19 hydroxychloroquine trials to date have been very limited, with very small sample size and did not have the proper control groups not receiving treatment. Hydroxychloroquine was thought to show promise to treat Chikungunya virus but clinical trials showed that the group receiving hydroxychloroquine had more complications than the control group not receiving it. There is a risk the same is true for COVID-19. Furthermore, known risks of hydroxychloroquine treatment include arrhythmias, hypoglycemia, neuropsychiatric effects including depression psychosis, mania, catatonia and hallucinations, and adverse drug–drug interactions. A recent study which has yet to be peer-reviewed showed the hydroxychloroquine actually increased the risk of death compared to patients who did not receive it [24]. It is also extremely toxic at as little as twice the recommended dose [25]. Dr. Fauci was right to not recommend a treatment that has no proven benefit and could actually kill people or make things worse until we know for sure the benefits outweigh the risks.
Also the video says that ‘big pharma’ is shutting down potential natural remedies for COVID-19. The sheer global demand for any promising cure and the potential resulting profits would say that even in the most cynical and capitalist of worlds that isn’t true. If there was a natural or herbal cure that showed promise, I can guarantee you that ‘big pharma’ would be trying to isolate it, validate its efficacy and sell it to you. Many drugs we use today come from plants. Aspirin was isolated from the willow plant, penicillin was isolated from bread mold, and in the past 50 years, over 24 approved drugs were isolated from natural products [26]. While pharmaceutical companies can’t patent the natural compound itself, they can modify the compound to make it more effective and then patent it or patent the process used to extract it. If there was anything that had promise, it would need to be investigated and rigorously tested before it could be developed into a drug. But unfortunately, many are taking advantage of the situations to promote their unproven herbal cures or natural remedies and make money off of people’s desperation and fear.
Another point brought up was that your immune system will suddenly become naive from social isolation. This theory is misplacing the hygiene hypothesis [27]. The hygiene hypothesis is a theory that links an overly sterile childhood to an increase in allergies and autoimmune disease, because the immune system is not exposed to enough pathogens and is not trained to recognize them. However, the preliminary studies supporting this theory are for individuals not being exposed to enough pathogens in early childhood due to an overly sterile environment. This does not extrapolate to adults in self isolation. Your immune system doesn’t suddenly forget everything it learned over a lifetime of exposure to pathogens during a few months in self isolation. Immunity to known pathogens lasts for years. Memory B cells survive for decades. They create acquired immunity by memorizing a specific antigen upon first encounter and then recognizing it upon subsequent encounters. And the pathogens you see in your daily life are the ones you were most likely already exposed to. Your immune system learns and remembers over your lifetime. Antibodies to known pathogens last for many years. Furthermore, even if you are staying home, you are still being exposed to tons of pathogens everyday. I don’t care how often you clean your house, there is no way it is sterile. Human bodies have trillions of bacterial cells living in our bodies as part of a commensal relationship, colonizing our gut and skin.
One of the last points brought up in that video segment was whether masks should be worn. There are two types of masks, an N95 mask and a surgical mask. An N95 is a tightly fitting mask that prevents the wearer from breathing in virus particles, and is usually worn by healthcare professionals treating COVID-19 patients. Surgical masks are looser fitting masks that prevent the wearer from spreading droplets. They provide less protection for the wearer than an N95 mask because they are not fitted and air can get in the sides. These are the types of masks that ERs would usually have available and they tell visitors to wear if you had cold or flu-like symptoms. The reason for this is when sick people wear them, they can significantly reduce them spreading the virus through droplets[28]. This can be confusing because, at the beginning, official recommendations were for healthy individuals to not wear masks. However, recently it has been discovered that people can transmit the virus before they show symptoms while other people are asymptomatic and some even never develop symptoms but can still spread the virus [29]. And while a basic surgical mask or homemade cloth mask won’t protect you 100 % from getting infected, it does provide some protection. And more importantly, wearing one can significantly help prevent you from spreading the virus to others if you happen to unknowingly have the virus [30, 31]. Lastly, the whole bit about it increasing your chances of getting sick by breathing in your own coronavirus is ridiculous. The coronavirus cannot replicate on its own; it needs to replicate within a host, which is your cells. So the majority of the virus once infected will be in your cells, and the number of viruses you are secreting will be far less than what is already in your cells. We also don’t go through life with low levels of COVID-19 in us. We need to be exposed to it from somewhere in our environment. Just clean your reusable mask regularly or change your disposable mask.
This is a scary and uncertain time. It can be confusing too since this is a new virus, scientists and doctors are learning about it now as we try to fight it, so sometimes recommendations can change as we learn new things about it. But just because science doesn’t know everything about this virus yet doesn’t mean we should disregard everything we do know. Misinformation is at an all time high but we need to resist the temptation to fall victim to it. Trust the experts and stick to the facts. It becomes dangerous for everyone when people stop believing the science and don’t follow public health recommendations.
