SHIP HORNS SOUND AND REMIND GOVERNMENTS
OF THE CRISIS WITH THE CHANGE OF CREWS
Abstract: The article examines the humanitarian crisis facing seafarers and seafarers’ families in times of COVID-19 pandemic. The humanitarian crisis caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic and in which sailors and their families were involved is being given a complete and comprehensive description for the first time in the world, which is a significant scientific contribution of a Bulgarian scientist and the Bulgarian science.
The results of this study were reported by the author to the participants from over 100 countries at The IX World Congress for Psychotherapy “Children, Society and Future – the Planet of Psychotherapy“ – June 24-29, 2020, which due to the COVID-19 pandemic was held virtually on the ZOOM platform.
The author was co-chair of the Symposium „Positive Dynamic Psychotherapy“. The congress was initiated by the World Council for Psychotherapy (WCP), founded in 1995 in Vienna, and is the major event of the decade in the field of psychology and psychotherapy.
The article supports the protest of ship crews around the world related to the pandemic crisis in the World Ocean and calls on the governments of all countries to take effective and immediate action about the change of ship crews and ensure the safe return of seafarers to their countries and families.
The article is dedicated to all graduates of the author from Naval Academy „Nikola Vaptsarov”, Varna, sailing in the World Ocean as ship officers.
The author expresses his gratitude to them as key workers and modern heroes in the naval battle with the COVID-19 pandemic.

MENTAL HYGIENE DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC
ABOUT THE MENTAL HEALTH, MENTAL PROTECTION AND
PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT IN EXTREME SITUATIONS
Abstract: Based on years of experience in studying human behavior in extreme situations, the author presents his vision of mental hygiene during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The role and content of psych hygiene are revealed, its importance for the survival of a person in extreme conditions is shown.
Many facts and arguments are provided to prove the need for a person to learn lessons from past disasters and catastrophes.
The report outlines effective forms of work about supporting mental health, mental protection and psychosocial support in the COVID-19 pandemic.
The author concludes that the world is unprepared for the 2019 global war on coronavirus (2019-nCoV).
Recommendations have been made towards improving the training of the medical, military and management personnel for reliable protection of the population against disasters, accidents and catastrophes, nuclear, chemical and biological protection and ecology.

VAPTSAROV INTERNATIONAL PRIZE
„THE SEA AND THE MACHINES”
Abstract: The paper is a result of 10 years of research on the literary work of Nikola Vaptsarov and is a sequel of the author’s monograph about the poet and the sailor, who related the sea and the machines with the human’ soul and who praised faith and love, freedom and peace, issued in 2009.
Nikola Vaptsarov‘s contribution as a poet and an innovator in creating new poetic forms and giving a soul to the machines, the ships, and the sea has been investigated.
Considering the great contribution of Nikola Vaptsarov to the spiritualization of the sea and the machines and creating a unified harmony and synergy with the human soul the author proposes establishing a Presidential Vaptsarov International Prize „The Sea and the Machines“.
