Today, Republican U.S. Congressman Ron Paul celebrates his 76th birthday. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on August 20, 1935. Ron Paul is also a candidate for the Republican Party United States Presidential nomination for in the 2012 election.
To celebrate, Ron Paul’s campaign and his supporters organized a one-day mass donation event (moneybomb*) for today.
Due to extremely high interest, after accumulating around $1.2 million dollars, the server at RonPaul2012.com started crashing periodically. Cyber attack? (See pictures 1 and 2 below).
Regardless, his supporters are still donating and at 11:00PM ET the total sum had accumulated to $1.4 million (See pic. 3). Donations range from $20 to $2,500 (the maximum contribution per person per election cycle).
Eurochicago.com compliments Ron Paul on this truly extraordinary birthday present.
Happy Birthday!
